Aprill 21. 1680

Sir

About Ten dayes since I received your most kind, and
very obligeing letter of the 6th. November last; for which
favour I returne you my harty thanks, and do assure
you I am not a little Proud of your great civilitie, &
kindnesses expressed therein; which shall not want the due
Acknowledgements I owe for them, in any thing I may
be serviceable vnto you. I did presume to send you a
letter about three weekes agoe by one Collonell Benjamin Rozier;
my wife's Son in Law, and one of my Councill in Mary=
Land; from whom you'll reciue some information of
the State of Affaires, both of my Province and our Neigh=
bourhood. I did by the same hand send an other
to Sir Robert Southwell, and in that letter I inclosed on which I
had received from Collonell Nicholas Spencer Secretary of Virginia;
which I thought necessary to send to Sir Robert Southwell, for,
his, and your Satisfaction, as to the present State of
Affiares in that Colony. Since that I haue received other
letters from Virginia, the which by this opportunity I send to my
Servant; and if you desire the pervueall of any of them,
he is order'd to waite on you, whensoever you shall require
him. The Capain (by whom your last came to my hands)
assureth me, that he was in Company with the Oxford Frigatt
about Four score Leagues of the Channell of England, and that
once he had been aboard the Frigat to waite on the Lord
Culpepper: but I cannot as yett be informed whether
his Lordshipp be arrived; I am sure his is much Expected
and no lesse wanted. When I haue any thing worth
your knowledge, I will not faile to transmitt it to you
and on all occationes you shall find a ready and gratefull Acknowledgement of your favours
to dear Sir Your most Affectionate friend and Servant
C Baltemore
