Honoured Sir:

I received a Commission the beginning of October last past
from the Right honourable the Commissioners of their Majesties
Treasury for the collecting and receiving their Majesties Revenues
for the Support of Government within the District of
Puttuexent, And am alsoe Commanded by my instrucions
from their Lordshipps to give your honour an exact
account from time to time of all occurrences relateing
there to the which I shall readily and exactly Comply with
what publick Lawes have beene made since the
arriveall of the Governor are sent for England to their
Majesties the retorne of which is Expeced by the ffleete
from London soe, that shall deferr giveing an account
of them till their Majesties assent or Dissassent relateing
there to be knowne at the Departure of the ffleete
from hence I shall give your honour a full account of all
matters relateing to their Majesties interest within this
District and if anything of moment offers in the
interim I will take care to Communicate it to your
Honour I shall not add anything more at present
but make bould to subscribe myselfe.
