In the Office 3 July 1702
9. in the morning

Sir

We are now got hither, proceeding with
a fine gale at N.N.E. The Ships we brought
were from the Downes, prov'd a fleet of Merchant
Ships from the Westward, and to bring up the
others when they shall arrive at St Helens
there are some Ships of War left behind.

A Court Martial is designed to be held
in 3 or 4 days for the Tryall of some Captains that
have been [illegible] in raising their Companies in the
new Levies which occasioned the great Draughts
that were made out of the Regiments at
Portsmouth.
