A copy of a Writt of Replevin granted by Quaker Justice
of the Peace in Philadelphia for goods seized by the Collector of his Majestees
Customes at New Castel on Delaware bay in order to be Tryed at the
Court of Admiralty there Erected by his Majesties Comand in the Province
of Pennsilvania, Which In Contempt of his Majesties Authority were by
vertue of the Writt taken illegally ouf of the Custody of the Marshall
of that Court of Admiralty.

To the Shreiff of the County of Philadelphia Greeting &c

We Command thee that Justly & Without Delay thou Cause to be Replevied unto
John Adams of Boston Merchant his goods & Chattles, to Witt, One Trunk of
Severall Sorts of English goods Five Bolts of Canvas and Five halfe Barrels
of East India Goods, Which Robert Webb of Philadelphia Aforesaid Gentleman
took and Unjustly Detained as he Saith, and that afterwards thou Cause the
Same to be Justly brought him the said John Adams, he giveing Security
to have them forth comeing, according to Law, Least we here any further
Complaint in that behalfe for Want of Justice Wittness Anthony
Morriss at Philadelphia the 26th. August 1698.
