Jamaica July 4th 1688
Sir.
I received yours by Captain Brookes by which I had the
advantage of the favourable report theire Lordships were pleased
to give to his Majesty in Councill concerning Sr. Henry Morgan
and Collonell Ivy; and the Other Intelligence which you sent me, for
all which I think myselfe much obliged to your care and contri
vance, and shall always be mindful of it, I have no news
Save what I had yesterday from Sr. [illegible] ^ Robert Robinson dated the
Sixth of June who Informes me that about three weekes
before a South Seaman ^ of about 500 Tunns, 66 men, 30
Gunns, and 12 Pattereroes made Burmoodas, who notwith=
standing any Solicitacions, were possitive not to come into
Harbour; but upon very good Termes soe that Sr. [illegible] Robert not
only Caused his Majestys Gracious Proclamacion to be read
amongst them, but gave Assurances that theire persons
goods and Chattels, should have free liberty to be Shipt on any
Vessell to any of his Majestys Collonyes in Order to theire further
Transport for England, he Sayes Severall of them are intended
for this place to referr themselves to me, They presented Sr.
[illegible] ^ Robert with their Ship which he is fitting to Send for England by
his Son, I suppose you may have heard of this, but however
I thought it not amiss to acquaint you with it.
Here has nothing hapened since mine to theire Lordships
of the 20th of June Last, and therefore you will Oblige me in excu=
sing ^ my not writing by this Ship, but you may be Assured that

nothing of moment Shall pass which shall not by the next Opportunity
be communicated to their Lordships by
