Sir

I am sorry to heare that you are my Enemie in England, if
soe it not only infinitly surprizes me but gives me the greatest
trouble and dissatisfaction imaginable, I would not willingly
doe that thing which should contract a prejudice from you
in Relation to my Selfe, or act in any perticular to disoblige
you, if there's a difference between Mr: Richier and my Selfe
I would humbly intreat the favour of you not to Espouse his
cause to my destruction but to Stand Newterall and be
generouse, and heare what I can Say for my Selfe in my
defence, and Justification: I haue Sent Mr: Trott purposely
into England to confront that Scandelous Lying petition his
Brother has Exhibited to the King and Councell against me,
and I doe not question but to make it apeare soe. before
the King and Councell; and that Governor Richier is as
bas a Subject to King William as any he has in america
or Europe, and this is already don by evidences vntrolable
that Shall convince all man kind that heares them; which
I am Sure will come to your hands to pervse. Sir I would not
haue you resent that I haue not Sent you any Cedar, this
gentleman Mr: Trott can attest the Scarcety of it, for the
King has not a tree upon all his Land that's fitt to make
a plank for Wenscoat, or any thing else, it's all destroyed by
the three late Governors, if there had bin any trees for
your vse that could haue bin bought for Love or money
you Should haue Received them by the first returne into England
after my arrival: there are but two places in the Island
as I am informed will make Planke for Wenscoat, My
Lord Manchester is one, and one Butterfeild another,
when his ffather died he left it by will that no Timber
Should be felled or Sold until his Son came to four & Twenty
yeares of age, and he wants four of it; this I acquainted
you by the last Letter I sent you by one Hunt, who prov'd
a Villaine and a Rogue to me. My Lord uppon your first
asking him, will either give or sell if either ile take
care to send it you. if he does not his Tennants will cut
it down and sell it, to build Sloops and Boats, and never
account nor acquaint my Lord with it. What other things
my Last Letter mentioned, as the Case of Adam Eve.

Ile Leaue to Mr Trott to acquaint you and giue you an account of it, and other matters
beside. This from

Sir
your humble Servant to
Command
