Cowes.9. february.1696.

Honorable Sr.

While the business of New England is before you
I should be wanting to My Self if I should not
continue to pray you favour, (if there be any room)
to send mee home in a Station Capable to serve the
King and My Country,

If this long prepraration should end in a long
settlement, and I should be quite out, it would ob
lige mee to pluck up My Stakes there, to My great
disadvantage and to the Discouragement of some
others there, My Lord Cutts on My behalf will thank
fully accept any Inclination from you. and I shall
for ever acknpwledge My self to be.

Sr. you Most obliged and
Humble servant
Joseph Dudley
