Boston In New England December 5: 1683

Sr

Mr Randolph accompanying this will discharge much of
that duty you might otherwise haue exported from myselfe
As my Son hath acquainted me with your favourable direction to procure
the Narroganset Comission soe will hee herewith bring backe thanks
from myselfe and Gentlemen concerned in that affayre and give you
a full accompt of Proceedings and Results thereon belonging
intrusted with the Commissioners Report and the Defence which upon a dayes
warning was made [illegible] against D: Hamiltons Clayme and though
undigested will wee hope Satisfy his grace in the [illegible] of our Title
and rather Induce him to Improve his Intrest to unfirme rather
then obstruct the Confirmation of our right and Settlement of Government
any Longer.

My Son I presume may be Imployd to attend his Majestys pleasure
in this affayre all Concernd haue soe great dependance upon
your Just favoure and good Directions to him in the management
that by his hands they recomend their peticion to your perusal and
performance And haue according to the Circumstances of the Cae
and the obligations you may lay them under by the good and expeditious
Issue made effectuall provision with Mr Deane for acknowledgment

My perticuler answers make me alsoe a petitioner Mr Randolph
promises his assistance to my Son therein But I must alsoe Crave
the addicion of your favour in this and countenance in such other
matters as may come under his Sollicitation and humbly
intreat you in such matters as he bring to your Conusance you would
according to your wisdome direct incourage or restreine him as
I Know he may reap great advantages under the influences of
your goodness and Wherein I may otherwise fall short in Returns
I shall pray that God make a recompence to yourselfe and those
that may be dearest to you and for ever remaine
