Boston: in New England:
January: 16: 1687

Honored Sr.

This onely acquaints you that my Lady
Andros is so dangerously sick that her
recouery is questioned by all, and the Governor
was troubled with a flux before her arrivall
and in that condition went to Connecticutt
has bee somewhat Better but now neither Eats
drinks or will compose himself to rest that
wee haue all cause to feare it will bring him
into a relapse & wee may question his recouery
also. Wee are in an ill posture should he
fayle there being none but Mr Mason Captain
Nicholson & my selfe to stem the tide of the
old faction which growes & euery day ap
peares more & more in the Councill so that
wee could gett nothing to moue for his Majestie
without great difficulty & disputes: my humble
Seruice to Mr Povey pray send the inclosed
as directed & you will oblidge
