Boston: Aprill 2: 1688

Sr:

In my letter to you by Captain Tanner I acquainted you that I had gaind to
his Majestie the Moiety of Ten thousand two Hundred Seaventy foare Ounces of Money.
& plate out of a vessel which came to N: Bristoll. from the Spanish wreck: the
Master & company were by bond obliged to pay his Majestie but the Tenths: I haue mett
with a great deal of Trouble, & hazarded my life to gett it, I haue by my
petition to the Lords of the Treasury sett fourth the matter & pray His Majestie to
Reward for that Seruice.
