Copy. Whitehall 7th Octber 1684

Sir

His Maestie being infomred that there are seuerall New England
ships trading in Holland contrary to Law. hath therefore
sent the person who will deliver this to you. to try if they
can be seized. & therefore hath commanded me to recom
mend him to you, that you may assist him with your
Creditt & Councell. in everything relating to his Commission,
of which he will giue you a particular account. So
that I shall only assure you that I am Sir.
