Bermuda November 9th: 1696

Sir

After six months passage I had the honour to receive yours with the
Lords letter and a coppy of the association which I haue sent
home subscribed by the inhabitants of the Island, with a great
deale of readinesse & willingnesse, except four quakers, I haue
likewise sent home to the Lords a particular of all matters
relateing to Mr Richier and my selfe (in which cause I entreate
you not to be my enemy) I haue in all respects given A
due obedience to the Kings order of council of the 19 of December
1695, as will appeare in the papers I haue sent to you under
the publick seale of the Island, I haue wrott a Letter to my Lord
Scarborough to intreate him with your selfe to deliver the
association to the King, that and all other papers my Nephew
Brooke will waite on you with them. Complaints will make no
man Easey I wish the Government of Bermuda were under
those circumstances to me that I were in a capacity to oblige you
I am really left of that here destitute, I can only let you kno[w]
that I should be infinitly proud on all occations to subscribe
my selfe that I am

of the Island by their Lordshipps
particular order, and of the
number of the slaues, to all officers,
and an account of all the Publick Lands
belonging to the King.
